Typography Challenge: FINAL ROUND

posted February 02

For those finalists who have advanced to this round, congrats! To those who haven’t, you may still try out this challenge for fun.

This round is all about freestyle and more freedom. Be creative.

Take this quote:
“If you don’t know where you’re going, any road will get you there.”

  1. You must use the color #e90909 for your background and white (#ffffff) for your text.
  2. You may only use this quote.
  3. Dimensions of your final graphic must be 600 [width] x 500 [height].
  4. Your name and website name MUST be on the final graphic. If you do not have a website, you do not have to include it.
  5. You may use outside resources.
  6. The typography does have to be readable. Your text must be the way the sentence is arranged.
  7. To enter, simply post the URL of your piece in the comment section.
  8. You may only enter once.
  9. If you are entering for fun or practice, please state so!

Deadline is February 15th.

  2. I might try this out for fun. This sounds like a amazing challenge compounded by my absolute love of typography. Good quote pick too.

  3. Well, the background, is a swimchick texture which I coloured the #e90909. So before anyone says it’s not red, it is, just lightened.
The text has been played with in terms of contrast and stuff. So, yeah. Here it is, entering for fun.
Not that good, but I’m not so good with typography.

  4. In terms of readable, can some text be upside-down but it’s still clear?

  5. I realize mine is simple, extremely simple, but one of the major purposes of typography is to display a message in an effective way. I feel as if keeping it as simple as possible, for this piece at least (and with the restrictions and such) would be the most effective way.

  6. Can the background ONLY be that colour, or can it include others? Same with text?
