This is kind of like basic blending - but instead of feathering most of the time you use the eraser much more.
I'm going to use these 2 pictures of Mandy Moore:
Now that we have our pictures, make a 500x400 white background document. Take your first mandy picture, then press CTRL C then go to the new blank document and then press CTRL L. So now the picture is added as a new layer on the white document. Do the same with the other mandy picture.
Now your document should look like this:
The 2nd mandy picture should be on top. Now you have to use your MOVE
tool to move the mandy picture over. Then move the other mandy picture under it alittle to the right. It should kind of look like this:
Now that we moved our pictures over, make sure the raster 2 is highlighted:
After that, click on your ERASER tool
and erase some of the mandy picture.
Keep erasing the outside of the picture (the arm to the right) until you finish and it looks like this:
So now that you get the hang of using the eraser, you can now put the mandy picture alittle closer to the other one and then feather the top part of her head that doesnt blend using the selection tool (put feather to 22)
So now it looks much more blended:
And if you even wanted you can add ANOTHER picture to the blend and erase the sides.
Use this picture:
Put it in the middle and try to erase so it blends with the other pictures. This is what I got:
Add a few effects to it and it could turn out as nice as this:
